A Custom Home Theater Guide for the Californian

How to Improve Home Theater Experience with Smart Control?

Los Angeles is the home of Hollywood, so movies are always the talk of the town. Instead of watching premiers at the local theater in Yorba Linda, CA you could have your own premier party at your home in a custom home theater. Dedicated theaters are a wonderful addition to your home, not just because it’s fun to have your own personal cinema free of sticky floors and un-comfy seats—but because it will add value to your property too. With smart home automation, you’ll also have a lot more cool, custom features you could never use at the movie theater down the street. So how do you get started? The first step is reading this guide to get an understanding of what is involved.

Discover Your Vision

Do you want an elegant theater with vintage Hollywood pieces and a red carpet? Or do you want a Star Trek style room that makes you feel like you are in a space ship? If you can dream it, we can execute it. The first step is simply putting what you want down on paper. Then we have a discovery meeting where we listen to all of your needs and desires. It’s essential to establish a specific vision for the theater before the work begins. If you have trouble making decisions or are not especially good at design, we can create one for you as well.

Make Official Plans

Once we have your dreams on paper, it’s time to draft the design plans. Our job is to take your thoughts and put them into a concrete plan. We’ll also give you a cost estimate that aligns with your budget. With your approval, our professionals will move onto the pre-construction phase.

Prepare for Construction

Once the engineering documentation is complete, we are ready to install the infrastructure, such as low voltage and electrical wiring, lighting fixtures, and enclosures. Next, we purchase all audio, video, and automation equipment and assemble as appropriate in our office or at the job site. Our job is only complete when you are 100% satisfied with the finished product. The length of time for this phase is dependent upon the time frame of construction. If you want additions, or choose to make changes during the construction, we’ll draft new drawings for your final copy. Once the system installation is complete, all engineering documentation is updated to an as-built state.

Put in the Finishing Touches

This portion of the process includes more than just seating. We help you put the finishing touches on your room which may include, a popcorn machine, artwork, special lighting fixtures, or blankets and pillows for the seating. We won’t stop until your home theater is exactly the way you want it. When we finish, you’ll get copies of the official drawings for your personal records and a line-by-line sheet outlining all the costs and final price.
